Concrete Pumping Contractors San Diego - Can You Really Use a Trailer Pump?
There have been many misconceptions regarding concrete pumping but we are here to clear those misconceptions and clarify the process when using a concrete pump. When it is necessary to deliver large amounts of concrete, believe it or not, it is possible to use a trailer pump for this purpose. For the most part anything is possible when using concrete pumps, as long as the correct process is followed using the right tools. We are the experts, therefore we will get the job done.
When using a concrete pump, there is a process by which the concrete flows through the hose and behaves in a certain way as it flows. Our process includes using a priming agent, which allows the concrete to flow with ease though the hose which allows for greater job efficiency. We also consider the size of the rock and we multiply this by four. We do this because most like three rocks will slide through and there needs to be enough space for easy flow (the extra space, about 3/4 of an inch, is taken up by cement, sand and water).
Having the previous information in mind, the concrete should have no issue flowing though the concrete pump hose but nothing is perfect. At times there may be some type of blockage or some type of similar issue which impedes the constant flow. Working with concrete at times may not be as easy as it looks, but the aim to leave about 3/4 of an inch for the concrete mixture being used makes it easier to work with. With this in mind, a hose with a three inch diameter will work as long as the pour is 150 feet or less. A four inch hose or larger may be a better choice when the pour is greater than 150 feet.
When the distance gets larger, there may be several issues which may begin to affect the pour. Weight, for example, may begin affect the flow of concrete. For example, the tip hose operator may possibly struggle to keep the hose in place as more and more concrete passes through. When this happens, hooks be necessary to keep the hose in place. Also, with heavier setups, it may be necessary to use extra workers to help pull the slack and keep control of the hose.
Even though the process may not be as easy as it looks, there is no need to worry. You have chosen the right company. We specialize in big rock concrete pumping and can tackle any project you may have. No job is too big or too small. Whether there is a limitation with long distances or heavy mixes, there is no stopping us. Using our vast experience and skills we can definitely get the job done!
